If travel is a passion of yours but not something that you can afford to do all the time then consider a traveling career. There is also one other very important reason to consider a traveling career and that's because it's such a popular industry. When an unstable economy is in the workings, it always helps to have employment in a solid industry. Reports have it that it is one of the country's largest employers. That doesn't mean it hasn't had its ''ups and downs'' but it's always managed to stabilize itself and work its way back up to one of the top industries.

The neat thing about a traveling career is the opportunity to find employment in a variety of areas within the industry. There are many traveling jobs that one can be involved in, for example some of the following:

Travel Agents

If you prefer an inside atmosphere to work in but like the adventure of travel, then becoming a travel agent might be perfect for you. You have a few options here as well. You can either go and work for a travel agency or even consider opening your own online travel agency. These are becoming most popular and successful as well.

Outside of the basic travel agent positions there are specialty fields as well that provide some excellent traveling jobs. They stay within the scope of the agents thought. For example, there are corporate agents, meeting and travel planners, or leisure/vacation travel agents. This is just an example of what is available to you by way of traveling jobs.

Travel Guide Jobs
Once again, there is a variety of positions when it comes to travel guide jobs. In travel tour guide jobs, you will be the one to oversee a tour that may be part of a travel package, or perhaps a transportation company has arranged. It will be your responsibility to inform the clients the history relating to the major attractions on the tour.

These jobs aren't necessarily conducted through vehicle travel, but can consist of walking tours as well. Sometimes the tour guide jobs will require you to assume extra duties like arranging accommodation and entertainment for example.

Travel guide jobs are very similar to that of the travel tour guide jobs but they usually entail planning a tour from start to finish. Meaning what attractions are to be seen, how long the tour is to be, where the participants will stay and other small details, like stop over points, and shopping sprees.

Then there are some really specialized and unique travel tour guide jobs. You can almost find any type of adventure travel tour guide jobs that fit into your scope of interests. For example if you enjoy biking then there are many tourism companies that offer biking tours. You will find these types of tours throughout Europe. Then if you would like to seek out travel guide jobs that enjoy the excitement of the jungle, then check out the jungle tour in Thailand. For something different, you may want to consider travel guide jobs that take place in the air. I am not referring to airplanes either. Hot air balloon tours are very popular in France. If all of this is just a little too much excitement then you may want to seek out travel tour guide jobs that are a little more down to earth such as winery tours.

Traveling jobs don't just entail being a tour guide. Don't forget the various modes of travel that we have. You may want to consider being an airline flight attendant. On the other hand, perhaps secure a position on a train. There is a variety of positions available here. There is the food sector, and the entertainment sections just to name a few. Then of course, we don't want to leave out cruise ships. They are many traveling jobs available in this mode of travel. This is probably one of the most favored. It seems like everyone enjoys a cruise whereas some traveling jobs that consist of flying are not very enticing to people that are fearful of flying.

On cruise ships, there is the food service section. If you have experience in the food industry, you may be able to find the perfect employment here. You get to travel and have work that you enjoy. Many cruise ships have spas so if you have worked in the beauty industry this may be perfect for you. Then there are many other types of positions as well. Each job has its own requirements regarding training and experience. It's just a matter of finding something that is applicable to your skills.

If you want a career in traveling then do some research to find out what options are available for you. See if any of the skills you possess would be applicable to the travel industry. Good luck and happy job searching!
