One of the first world traveling jobs that springs to mind is travel writing jobs. Though it may be among the first to come to mind, it is a rather tough field to get into. Many people may think that all you have to do is take a trip and write about it, but it actually takes a fair amount of education and experience to get to the income level that you want to be at in this field. One of the drawbacks to travel writing is that it is largely a freelance business. Though that does not give you the stability that you may be looking for, it will give you the freedom and excitement of a freewheeling traveler. You will learn about new lands and cultures, and you may have the opportunity to travel to places that you might not otherwise be able to afford.

The best way to get started in travel writing is to build a work experience that is rooted in writing and research. You must be prepared at times to have to pay for some of your expenses to complete some jobs in the beginning. However, as you progress in the field you will find that you are compensated. Of course, one of the most-coveted travel writing jobs is one that includes writing for a high-profile newspaper or magazine. For this, you will want to get your foot in the door to the publication, perhaps even for writing for a different area in the beginning. After a while, your passion for travel and your tremendous work ethic are sure to get you noticed by the right people.

A lesser-known high-paying travel jobs is that of a traveling nurse. In this position, you will not only be able to travel the world, but you will also be able to make a positive impact on the places and people you are visiting. Traveling nurse positions can range from jobs that last for several weeks, but they can also develop into permanent positions. Typically, if you are only doing a few weeks' stint in a location, the company that you are working for will provide your housing. That is an amazing perk when you look at your overall income potential in this position. However, those who choose more permanent positions and find their own housing are typically awarded a fairly generous stipend to go toward their accommodations. Of course, to get into this field you must have the necessary education to be a certified nurse. However, if you do this, you will open yourself up to an incredibly fulfilling and financially beneficial world-traveling job.

Another one of the popular world traveling jobs is that of a travel agent. Travel agents get a lot of perks in their industry, and quite often, that means they are getting to travel quite a bit. Additionally, you can build your clientele so that you have repeat customers and therefore larger and more frequent commissions. But how do you become a travel agent? First and foremost, it is important to realize that to get into one of the larger travel agencies, which is where you want to be for a higher-paying position, may require you to have a bachelor's degree. From there you will have to take a six to twelve week course that certifies you to become a travel agent. You will also need to put your work in to make sure that you are as proficient on the computer and Internet as possible. Much of the travel industry has gone fairly high tech, so being proficient in maneuvering around the different Internet sites is quite essential to your success as a travel agent. Additionally you might want to look into trying to learn a different language or two. By doing this you open yourself up to international travel agent job opportunities. This not only allows you to explore the world more fully, but it makes you more desirable to your employer, which will directly impact your paycheck.

The travel industry is an exciting industry to be involved with, and some of the high-paying travel jobs can be at your fingertips. What you need to do to get these world traveling jobs it to take the time to ensure that you have all of the necessary education to succeed in your desired position; and then you need to go after it. If you do both of these things, you will soon be rewarded with a job that you love and a paycheck that you love even more.
